Swim for Saxon

I'm The Black Sheep - Once again, Proud Sponsors of The Swim for Saxon

On Sunday 16th February Queenscliff Surf Life Saving Club hosted the now, Annual Swim for Saxon Ocean Swim Event.

The event is to honour Saxon Bird, our mate and champion Queenscliff competitor.

Saxon sadly left us on the 19 March 2010, at the age of 19, after being hit in the head by a rogue ski during the ski leg of his U19 Ironman semi final at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships.

Saxon is a multiple Branch, State and Australian medalist, both individually and as part of Queenscliff teams.

He excelled individually in the swim and Ironman events as well as in team events where he was nicknamed the ‘Sav’ – Short for saviour after his incredible swim in the 2008 Lifesaver Relay at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championship which took the team from last place to 3rd and an Aussie Bronze.

I'm The Black Sheep were honoured to be proud sponsors of this event, showing support after sharing this moment close with family and friends in 2010

Saxon's beautiful sister Arielle even scored a place overall group carrying on the Saxon legacy. Many best wishes to her and her wonderful parents.
